Material Manager is responsible for the planning, procurement, storage, control, and distribution of materials required for daily operation of the center. They ensure to maintain a steady supply of materials to meet the centers needs without creating unnecessary overstock or tie-up of capital.


Some responsibilities of Material Manager include: 

  • Inventory control: Monitoring inventory levels to ensure that there is enough to meet demands of the center. They also purchase new materials when inventory levels drop. 
  • Forecasting: Determine what materials the daily flow of the center require and establish a timeline for obtaining them. 
  • Coordination of all preparation of Bids and Request for Proposals.
  • Materials organization and storage: Ensuring that materials are properly stored, easy to locate and identify, and maintained until usage. 
  • Receive and stage all incoming materials
  • Evaluating suppliers on the basis of delivery speed for their products and services, price and quality
