Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare surfaces for painting by washing walls, repairing holes, removing rust, or stripping old paint.
  • Mix, match, and apply paints, coatings, and finishes to a variety of surfaces, ensuring a high-quality application.
  • Select and procure paints, brushes, and other necessary supplies from vendors as required.
  • Use hoists, lift trucks, hand tools, and power tools to facilitate painting and maintenance activities.
  • Read blueprints and schematic drawings to determine proper work procedures for dismantling and reassembling machines.
  • Dismantle machinery using hammers, wrenches, crowbars, and other hand tools in preparation for painting and maintenance.
  • Move machinery and equipment using hoists, dollies, rollers, trucks, and specialized tools to position them appropriately.
  • Reassemble machinery after painting and maintenance to ensure proper function and alignment.
  • Collaborate with a team of skilled trades workers to complete installation, maintenance, and repair work as needed.
  • Adhere to all company safety protocols and maintain a clean, hazard-free work environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED. Vocational training in industrial maintenance or a related field is a plus.
  • Experience: Previous experience in industrial painting, equipment maintenance, or a related trade is preferred but not required.
  • Skills: Attention to details, ability to adapt to change, strong teamwork skills, basic mechanical skills, and skilled with hand and power tools.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. often.
  • Prolonged standing, walking, bending, and reaching continuously.
  • Ability to work in an environment that includes heights.
  • Manual dexterity and coordination for working with small components.
  • Willingness to work in varying environmental conditions, including hot, cold, and noisy environments.

The Industrial Painter position is responsible for preparing, painting, and maintaining industrial equipment and machinery within the facility. This role involves surface preparation, paint application, machine disassembly and reassembly, and general maintenance tasks to ensure the equipment remains in optimal working condition. This medium to heavy-duty position requires physical endurance, attention to detail, and a proactive mindset for decision-making.
