What are the responsibilities and job description for the Veterinary Assistant/Receptionist position at SOUTHSIDE ANIMAL HOSPITAL?
We are seeking an individual to work at the receptionist position and also assist with appointments. Experience preferred but we are willing to train the right applicant
Responsibilities:
- Greet and welcome clients and their pets to the veterinary clinic
- Answer phone calls, schedule appointments, and manage client inquiries
- Maintain accurate records of client information, medical history, and treatments
- Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians with animal restraint during examinations and procedures
- Clean and sanitize exam rooms, kennels, and other areas of the clinic
- Handle financial transactions, including processing payments and managing invoices
Requirements:
- Previous experience working in a veterinary clinic or animal-related field preferred
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with clients and team members
- Ability to handle dogs of all sizes and temperaments safely and confidently
- Familiarity with dog training techniques is a plus
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive attitude
- Flexibility to work some afternoons, some weekends and some holidays (We are closed New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Labor Day, 4th of July, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day)

Expected hours: 20 – 25 per week
