Facilities and Security Assistant
We are looking for a proactive and dedicated Facilities and Security Assistant to join our team. This role will be responsible for maintaining the security of our facilities, as well as taking care of basic building maintenance and vehicle upkeep.

Role
The Facilities and Security Assistant will maintain the smooth operation and security of our facilities, and provide support for vehicle maintenance. We are looking for a dedicated and proactive individual to join our team.
Your Core Contributions To The Team
- Security: Implement and maintain security protocols to ensure the safety of all staff, visitors, and assets. This may include:
- Vehicle Maintenance and Security: Perform routine maintenance on company vehicles and conduct basic security checks to ensure they are in safe and operable condition.
Facilities Management
- Coordinating with cleaning and maintenance staff to ensure that the building is clean and well-maintained
- Scheduling and overseeing repairs and maintenance work
- Responding to emergencies and facility-related issues
Security
- Monitoring surveillance systems
- Patrolling the premises
- Controlling access to the building
- Responding to security incidents
- Conducting security checks
Vehicle Maintenance and Security
- Performing basic maintenance tasks such as checking fluid levels, tire pressure, and lights
- Arranging for repairs and maintenance as needed
- Keeping records of vehicle maintenance
- Conducting security checks on vehicles
- Ensuring that vehicles are properly secured when not in use

Job Description
As a Facilities and Security Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and safe operation of our organization's facilities. You will be responsible for conducting routine inspections of buildings and grounds, identifying maintenance and repair needs, and taking appropriate action to address them. This may include performing minor repairs yourself or coordinating with external contractors for more extensive work.
You will also be responsible for maintaining and monitoring security systems, performing regular checks to ensure that all safety protocols are being followed. In the event of a security incident or emergency, you will be expected to respond promptly and effectively to ensure the safety of all personnel and property.
Additionally, you will assist with the maintenance and inspection of company vehicles, ensuring that they are in safe and operable condition at all times.
Key Responsibilities
- Facility Inspections and Maintenance:
- Conduct thorough and regular inspections of all facilities, including buildings, grounds, and equipment.
- Identify maintenance and repair needs and take appropriate action to address them.
- Perform minor repairs, such as fixing leaky faucets, replacing light bulbs, and unclogging drains.
- Coordinate with external contractors for major repairs and renovations.
- Maintain accurate records of all inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities.
- Security and Safety:
- Monitor security systems, including alarms, cameras, and access control systems.
- Perform regular checks to ensure that all safety protocols are being followed.
- Respond promptly and effectively to security incidents and emergencies.
- Investigate security breaches and prepare incident reports.
- Maintain a safe and secure environment for all personnel and visitors.
- Vehicle Maintenance:
- Assist with the maintenance and inspection of company vehicles.
- Schedule regular maintenance and repairs.
- Ensure that all vehicles are in safe and operable condition.
- Maintain accurate records of all vehicle maintenance activities.
- Additional Responsibilities:
- May be required to perform other duties as assigned, such as assisting with event setup and take down, moving furniture, and delivering packages.
Requirements
- Valid Driver's License: Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Vehicle Maintenance Experience: Experience in basic vehicle maintenance and repair is required.
- Security Experience: Basic security experience and knowledge of security protocols are preferred.
- Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are essential.
- Emergency Response: Ability to respond promptly and effectively to emergencies and security incidents.
- Physical Fitness: Must be able to lift and carry heavy objects, climb ladders, and work in a variety of indoor and outdoor environments.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are required.
Additional Skills and Qualifications
- Basic Electrical and Plumbing Knowledge: Basic knowledge of electrical and plumbing systems is a plus.
- Handy person Skills: General handy-person skills, such as carpentry, painting, and landscaping, are beneficial.

All The Other Stuff
This position reports to the Operational Supervisor. In their absence, the Chief Operating Officer will provide oversight and direction as needed. This is a non-exempt position.
