What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Child Care Operations position at Southside Christian Childcare?
Our licensed child care network is searching for a committed, energetic, and highly motivated individual to join our team as a Child Care Center Director. Southside Christian Child Care’s primary objective is to provide safe, healthy, and loving environments for children to reach their full potential, no matter the circumstance. As the Director, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of center operations, including ensuring compliance with state licensing regulations, managing staff and resources, and maintaining a secure and nurturing environment for children.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain compliance with all applicable state child care regulations and guidelines, including teacher-to-child ratios, required paperwork for licensing, staff, and attendees, and facility upkeep
- Ensure the health, safety, and comfort of all children under our care
- Implement center policies to help protect children from abuse and neglect
- Maintain program budget, collect payments and fees, approve and track expenses, and facilitate payroll
- Manage staff and resources to ensure the smooth operation of the center, including hiring and training teachers, maintaining staffing and enrollment files, and keeping clean classrooms
- Build strong and positive relationships with parents, staff, and the community
- Conduct and document staff meetings
- Plan and execute family-inclusive events
- Perform general office duties, including managing database systems and performing key administrative tasks
- Oversee supply and food ordering to ensure compliance with state regulations
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- MUST be at least 21 years old
- MUST have a bachelor of science or art degree from an accredited college or university in early childhood education or elementary education with a kindergarten endorsement OR a bachelor of science or art degree with 15 credit hours of college level courses with documented content relating to needs, skills, development, or teaching methods of children six years or younger. A bachelors degree combined with a CDA would also qualify. OR a two year associates degree in early childhood with 3 years experience in an early childhood program.
- MUST be willing and able to pass a physical, background check and drug screen.
- Knowledge of common state child care regulations
- Strong leadership and management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Self-motivated with ability to problem solve and make decisions independently
- General computer literacy
