The Residential Home Manager is responsible for the overall management of an assigned residence. Management and supervisory duties include but are not limited to providing direct supervision to all residence staff, providing oversight of medical management coordination for all individuals in the residence, and ensuring that the home meets all DBHDS licensing requirements. The Residential Service Manager is considered a full time position.

Responsibilities and Skills:
This position is expected to provide supervision to direct care staff and ensure full regulatory compliance of their assigned residence. Duties include:

  • Provide leadership and management in the delivery of group home services. Should address all concerns in a fair and just manner.
  • Provide regular, consistent supervision to all assigned staff and complete performance evaluations as required. Performance evaluations will be submitted to the Residential Service Director for approval.
  • Ensure that the activities planned for the household and individual Residents are written, posted for staff/resident/family review and implemented on a daily basis and ensure proper documentation of the reasons for any deviations.
  • Provide direct supervisory oversight of Direct Support Professionals in assisting individuals in performing all activities relating to daily living skills, personal hygiene (including toileting), physical and social interactions in the community, and other tasks as defined in each Residents’ Individual Service Plans.
  • Ensure staff is following correct medication administration to Residents as prescribed and in accordance with pharmaceutical instructions and proper medication guidelines; including documenting and reporting of all medication errors or mishandling of medications and notating in the house notes the date and shift on which a med error occurred. Ensuring that all Direct Support Professionals are inputting Medication Administration into the MAR at the appropriate time. Will Notify Residential Service Director immediately at any discrepancies.
  • Function as the primary point of contact for daily and routine communications from the Program Director, Administrative Staff and Resident’s family members.
  • Ensure staff compliance related to the documentation of resident activities, level of progress in relation to objectives, resident interactions and observations, medical follow up and all other pertinent information regarding the resident. Ensure all notes for house are inputted into Caresoft at the end of each shift. Ensure all Direct Support Professionals are completing notes in a timely manner. Reporting missing notes to the appropriate staff.
  • Supervise, train and ensure that staff report, according to policy, all suspected cases of suspected abuse and neglect, human rights, home and community based settings rights, etc.
  • Will ensure all safety checks- fire drills, house safety inspections, emergency preparedness drills, etc are completed in a timely manner and placed in the appropriate location.
  • Provide direct assistance and supervision to Direct Support Professional and Individuals on the cleanliness and sanitization of assigned houses.
  • Support Residential Service Director in maintaining proper cleanliness and sanitation of assigned residential homes, to include but not limited- wiping down all surfaces, taking trash out, laundry, supporting individuals in cleaning bedrooms, sweeping, mopping, stocking houses appropriately with PPE and other supplies.
  • Ensure that a grocery list is readily available for the Residential Service Direct for weekly grocery shopping.
  • Maintain a valid driver’s license, excellent driving record, auto insurance, CPR/First Aid Certifications, Medication Assistance Certification, and any other certifications as required by DBHDS.
  • Responsible for participating in the on-call rotation for Scheduling and Emergency Purposes. Function is the primary on-call contact for Direct Support Professionals in the event of emergencies or other events needing immediate attention and input from management. You may be required to go to the residence as needed in response to these emergencies or events
  • Provide direct supervision to all Direct Support Professionals using direct observation and face-to-face supervision.
  • Actively assist residents in performing all activities relating to daily living skills, personal hygiene, physical and social interactions in the community, and other tasks as defined in each Resident’s ISP as needed
  • Ensure accuracy, confidentiality and safe keeping of individuals records
  • Develop and maintain respectful, cooperative working relationships with the individuals services and all support staff.
  • Drive or coordinate with any Direct Support Professional for the transportation of residents that need to attend community functions, appointments, church, etc. and adhere to all driving rules in doing so.
  • Responsible for assuring residential location meets all DBHDS regulations as well as State Human Rights regulations.
  • Set the tone for the home in order to maintain a safe, sanitary and therapeutic environment for the Residents.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 per hour
