Summary: Analyzes credit data to estimate degree of risk involved in extending credit or lending money to commercial businesses or individuals and supporting the Credit Analysis Department in any and all daily activities by performing the following duties. 


Minimum Duties and Responsibilities include the following:


  • Develops and administers pre-credit analysis function on borrowers and guarantors on credit relationships of $750,000 and greater.
  • Performs loan reviews/annual reviews on selected borrowers and guarantors for credit relationships of $750,000 and greater.
  • Performs cash flows, financial credit analysis, collateral valuations, global cash flows, etc. for commercial borrowers and guarantors on credit relationships of $750,000 and greater.
  • Performs ongoing file maintenance to ensure credit information is uploaded to the credit file in a timely manner as needed.
  • Identifies policy, collateral, and missing document exceptions.
  • Identifies strengths and weaknesses of the relationship.
  • Performs covenant compliance by reviewing and interpreting financial statements, tax returns, and supporting schedules for covenant testing for commercial borrowers and/or guarantors based on the loan agreement.
  • Researches and summarizes industry information for potential and existing customers.
  • Reviews credit bureaus and background checks for potential and existing customers and guarantors to evaluate for potential credit worthiness and/or fraud.
  • Spreads financial statements and tax returns for potential and existing commercial customers and guarantors.
  • Covenant Monitoring and Tickler Administration
  • Accompanies relationship managers on customer calls and site visits of potential and existing customers as necessary.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.


Additional Responsibilities Commensurate with Experience


  • Appraisal Review and Analysis
  • Assists relationship managers in structuring credits, assessing covenants, and monitoring procedures.
  • Assists Loan Committee as needed with reports, agenda, meeting book, minutes of meetings, and any other duties in Credit Officer’s absence.
  • Assists in training and development of new relationship managers on the credit analysis process.
  • Assists in training, development, and mentoring of new credit analyst on the credit analysis underwriting and processes.

Must be knowledgeable of risks in all areas of the Bank, and make sound decisions accordingly. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret regulatory requirements, and make operating decisions that enforce compliance.

Errors may result in loss of customers, risk to the Bank, poor community image and regulatory citing.


Confidentiality:

This position has access to confidential records concerning the business and financial affairs of customers and employees. This information should not be discussed except in the performance of required tasks.


Internal/External Contacts:

This position interacts with other employees and members of management.
