Southview Medical Group, P.C. is a large, multi-specialty private practice with 34 Physicians and approximately 190 employees. We are located in Professional Building 3 of the UAB - Saint Vincent's Hospital Campus in Downtown Birmingham, AL.
Our Physician services include Internal Medicine / Primary Care, Geriatric Medicine, Cardiology, Dermatology, Endocrinology, Gastroenterology, and Infectious Disease. We offer Diagnostic and Laboratory Testing as well. Our office welcomes between 500 and 700 patient visitors each day.
We offer a robust menu of on-site Diagnostic Testing including X-Ray, DEXA, Ultrasound, CT, Echo, and Nuclear Medicine. Combined with our expansive in-house Laboratory, we are able to ensure accurate patient results with an efficient turn-around time. Southview Nurses serve as Telephone Triage Nurses working closely with Physicians who are in exam rooms most of each day. Responsibilities include performing telephone triage, eRx, phoning/faxing in prescriptions, calling patients with lab and test results, providing patient education, obtaining pre-certifications for patients, managing prior authorizations, assisting with special injections/treatments as needed, and other related duties.
The schedule for this in-office position is Monday through Friday, 8:00AM - 5:00PM.
Qualifications
Ideal candidates will have previous telephone triage experience in an office environment, good critical thinking/decision making skills, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, as well as the ability to interact professionally with physicians, patients, co-workers, and management along with a strong background utilizing computers in a working environment.
Active Alabama Nursing license required.
