Job Description
Summary
Responsible for installing, repairing, calibrating, performing preventative maintenance, electrical safety, and performance verification on a wide variety of medical equipment. Technician will be provided tools, laptop and Phone and will work remotely from his/her home office in the DFW Metroplex.
Primary responsibilities
- Investigate customer's equipment repair problems and find solutions
- Communicate with customers via phone, email, or letter
- Repair biomedical equipment by adjusting, calibrating, and testing and documenting equipment performance using hand tools, power tools, measuring devices, and knowledge of manufacturers' manuals, troubleshooting techniques, and preventive-maintenance schedules
- Maintain biomedical equipment by completing preventive maintenance schedules; conducting tests; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting and repairing malfunctions; calling for special service; evaluating service contracts; maintaining equipment inventories
- Inspect and install medical and related technical equipment in medical and research facilities
- Complete all applicable service related documentation accurately and in a timely manner
- Willing to occasionally travel outside of assigned region
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Skills/Qualifications
- Strong mechanical aptitude; ability to assemble/disassemble machinery and components, is a must
- Ability to analyze information from a variety of sources
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Computer skills using MS applications; Word, Excel
- Ability to travel for testing , installation, troubleshooting and repairs
- Good communication and strong customer service skills
- Good organization and time management skills
- Working knowledge of computer applications pertaining to tracking service histories and producing reports on assets
- Good trouble-shooting skills
- Ability and willingness to serve "on-call" duty as required
- Strong work ethic and ability to work as a member of a team
- Willingness and ability to receive factory training, computer training, and other training provided by company to progress into higher level grades
- Must be willing to submit to a background investigation, including for example, verification of past employment, criminal history and educational background
- Willing to take a drug test
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
- Ability to lift 50-75 lbs
Job Type: Full-timeRequired experience:
- Associate's degree in Biomedical Equipment Technology/Electronics Technology or Biomedical Equipment Technician Training in US Armed Forces. A minimum 2 years of experience repairing/servicing general biomedical equipment may substitute for formalized training

- Driver's License and Insurable
