As a part of our continued growth, Gilchrist Automotive Group is seeking an Automotive Vehicle Purchaser/Wholesaler to join our team! You will be responsible for managing the inbound flow of products to support the company's sales objectives as well as assisting in the liquidation of their wholesale units. The job will be located at our dealership in Cleburne. To excel in this position, you must be able to multitask, communicate well with others, and be very organized in tasks.
Essential Job Duties:
- Knowledge of auction activity as to selling and buying vehicles and possible attend auctions
- Maintains record and inventory of all vehicles purchased.
- Approves all paperwork from auctions and provides proper documentation to the office for purchases.
- Negotiates prices and transportation arrangements for vehicles.
- Keeps abreast of the current market and valuation of used vehicles.
- Develops and maintains outside relationships for both buying and selling units.
- Performs other specific administrative functions as directed by management.
- Maintains high ethical standards.
- Maintains professional appearance.
Qualifications:
- High School graduate or G.E.D. equivalent desired.
- Prior knowledge of automobiles or mechanics preferred
- Willingness to be trained and learn the company's products and procedures
- Basic math and reading skills to perform job tasks and complete necessary paperwork
- Ability to follow oral and/or written instruction
- Good negotiating skills are needed.
- Bilingual is a plus.
- Must be able to pass a background check as well as have and maintain a clean driving record
Automotive Car Purchaser/Wholesaler is responsible for buying inventory based on the recommendations and inventory model created by the Buying Director, to support and maintain a healthy inventory with less than a 40 day supply.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate logistics to get purchased units delivered to our stores within the auto-group. Negotiate fair transport as well as making sure it arrives in the agreed upon timeline.
- Maintain inventory levels to prevent aging issues. All non commercial inventory must be less than 40 days.
- Create relationships and maintain them with auctions
- Dispose of wholesale inventory at auction while maintaining an agreed upon average profit on these units.
- All other duties as assigned.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $39,000.00 - $46,800.00 per year
