Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Purchasing Manager to oversee our procurement processes and supply chain operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for sourcing materials, negotiating contracts, and managing supplier relationships to ensure the timely delivery of quality products. This role requires a strong understanding of logistics and systems, as well as the ability to collaborate effectively with various departments within the organization.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate electrical suppliers based on quality, cost, availability, and overall service to meet or exceed customer requirements.
- Create/maintain updated database of suppliers and their commodities.
- Negotiate contracts for commodities and bulk purchasing to meet or exceed customer requirements and reduce costs.
- Partner with internal customers (field teams, division leaders, administrative team) to establish/improve processes and drive a positive customer experience relative to on-time delivery of products.
- Establish communication channels with internal customers to improve communication and mitigate errors in purchasing.
- Improve purchasing and delivery processes for the Purchasing department to optimize efficiency of work.
- Set expectations and accountability of purchasing team to build talent, improve performance and enable sustainable results.
- Develop positive relationships with suppliers and enable sustainable partnerships.
- Ensure timely and accurate issue of purchase orders to suppliers.
- Enable efficient reconciling of invoices to PO's by developing and maintaining effective process with buyers and suppliers.
- Enable inventory efficiency through effective Inventory Management processes that establish Min, Max, Re-order points and Cycle Counts for commodities kept in stock.
- Process RTV's for items requiring credit from the vendor.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree or 7-10 years equivalent experience
- 2 yrs. of experience performing similar role with demonstrated success
- 5 yrs. of experience in purchasing, receiving or inventory management combined
- 2 yrs. of experience managing a developing team
- Excellent oral and written skills in English language
- Experience in ERP systems
Preferred Qualifications
- 5 yrs. of experience purchasing electrical supplies and commodities
- 5 yrs. of experience purchasing for electrical construction contractor
- 2 yrs. of experience negotiating Commodity Purchasing for electrical contractor
- 2 yrs. experience with Apex Purchasing system
- 2 yrs. experience with Spectrum Accounting System
