What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Project Manager/Licensed Project Engineer (P.E.) position at Southwest Engineers, Inc.?
Job Description: This role is exempt from minimum wage and/or overtime.
- A Senior Project Engineer will have extensive experience with civil engineering and will be able to effectively communicate that experience to a team of younger P.E.s, E.I.T.s, designers, and CAD Technicians for preparation of construction plans, specifications, exhibits, reports, quantities, cost estimates, etc. for various land development projects.
- Includes understanding the scope of work, estimated hours, and will be expected to take ownership of engineering design from start to finish.
- Helps prepare and review engineering plans/documents to be in compliance with regulatory agencies and communicate with the team regarding project timelines and issues, and accurate maintenance of files and contracts is required.
- Exercise good decision making, exhibits sound judgment and knowledge, shows responsibility of work produce and overall projects success
Job Responsibilities (including but not limited to)
- Performs assignments in the design of commercial, single family, multi-family and mixed-use developments – including roadway, domestic water, sanitary sewer and storm sewer drainage system design.
- Creates, executes, and revises project plans as appropriate to meet client needs
- Prepares engineering designs and reviews deliverables prepared by the design team for engineering accuracy
- Prepares for engagement reviews and quality assurance procedures
- Ensures project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately
- Delivers engaging, informative, well-organized construction drawings and engineering reports
- Understands how to communicate difficult/sensitive information tactfully
- Qualifications
- Minimum of Seven (7) years of licensure as a Professional Civil Engineer working in the land development industry
- Strong preference will be given to candidates with 10 years of experience
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil-3D, HEC-HMS or PondPack, HEC-RAS, etc.
- Ability to lead creation of designs and drawings supporting our client's overall project goals
- Computer skills: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc), AutoCAD (Including Civil3D), HEC Software (HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, etc.), Bentley (PondPack, StormCAD, etc.)
Salary : $115,000 - $160,000
