Summary
Responsible for accounts receivable functions of the organization including billing and coding, aging receivables, insurance verification and posting payments. Provide patient care and outstanding customer service. This position can be in-person, hybrid or remote out of the Chaska location or hybrid or remote out of the Hutchinson location. Starting pay is $20.00-22.00/hour.
About the role:
- Works with all areas of the organization to collect any necessary or requested documentation from patients, insurance carriers or other areas in regards to accounts receivable.
- Post and interpret payments from patients and insurance companies.
- Understand Explanation of Benefits from insurance companies and appropriately transfer charges, post denials, and create invoices for patients.
- Reconcile Vision Insurance aging report monthly.
- Research outstanding balances that are 30 days and older.
- Bill and code services to patients and insurance companies and ensure claims are coded properly by all clinics.
- Bill and submit Chaska clinic charges for all doctor visits.
- Reconcile billing with weekly billing reports.
- Verify and submit electronic claim batches on daily basis.
- Verify insurance benefits and request prior authorizations as needed.
- Answers patient’s questions regarding statements, agency coverage, etc.
- Print and mail patient statements on a monthly basis.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.

- Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives without supervision.
- Ability to handle and resolve recurring problems.
- Understand optometric and ophthalmic procedure and diagnosis codes.
- Basic book keeping skills

You meet these requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Two years experience in Medical Billing, Medical Collections, Medical Billing Systems and General Office.
