Position summary:

The Intake and Assessment Specialist provides assessments and referrals to individuals seeking behavioral health treatment services. Gathers clinical, demographic and insurance information to assist physician in determining the most appropriate treatment service and provider for the patient. Works in the Oakview office as well as the Emergency Department managing access to services at Oakview. Obtains necessary insurance approvals and benefits verification for recommended service, makes referrals to community service providers when appropriate. All intake and assessment staff will provide ongoing clinical care to all psychiatric patients admitted to the Behavioral Health are of the Emergency Department.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:
-
Graduate from an accredited school with a Masters Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or Counseling.

Required length and type of experience:-
Four years experience working in a behavioral health setting providing assessments. Knowledge of medical and psychiatric terminology and diagnostic criteria. Knowledge of community resources, managed care organizations and criteria for placement of behavioral health patients.

Required licensure, certification or registry:-
Licensure as an LISW or PCC in the State of Ohio is required.
