Job title: Family Connections Consultant
This role provides on-site coaching and training to selected early care and education programs across Maricopa County . You will also partner with early childhood professionals to provide individualized guidance and support; assist in developing professional development plans; and deliver targeted professional development and technical assistance to teachers.
In this role, you will:
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, and as applicable, other technical assistance service providers to review assessment findings to plan supportive service intervention and develop professional development plans.
- Utilize various coaching strategies and individualized supports to increase positive teacher-child interactions and enhance classroom environments.
- Assist in the implementation of the high-quality practices through regular coaching visits including, but not limited to, observations, reflective feedback, training, modeling, and providing resources.
- Maintain up-to-date documentation on coach activities and participant progress including coaching logs.
What it takes:
- Bachelor's degree in early childhood education - OR - Bachelor's degree that includes at least 24 college credits in ECE or a closely related field.
- Master's in Administration in Early Childhood Education or related field
- At least five (5) years of experience working in an early childhood setting with children birth to 8, experience working in an early childhood education setting with infants, toddlers, or preschoolers, or experience as an early childhood coach, is preferred.
- Demonstrate understanding of the dynamics of child development, developmentally appropriate practices, positive guidance and discipline, child-centered approaches, family dynamics, and management in early care and education settings.
- Experience working in Head Start or Early Head Start classrooms.
- Knowledge of Arizona Early Learning Standards and Infant Toddler Developmental Guidelines, ADHS state licensing standards, and national accreditation standards and systems.
- Knowledge of Conscious Discipline or the Pyramid Model is preferred.
- Valid Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card preferred - OR - must qualify for a valid Arizona Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card
- Reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license in good standing, and proof of current auto insurance are required.
