Title: CAD Designer Job Type: Hourly - Non-Exempt
Department: Systems Location: Mira Loma, CA
Supervisor: General Manager
SUMMARY
As the CAD Designer you will be responsible for the conceptual design, and creation of industrial warehouse storage system designs. Drawings include industrial pallet racking systems, vertical lift modules, technical drawings, complete warehouse layout and square footage specifications while utilizing familiarity with standards, materials, and other compliance knowledge. Permit responsibilities will also fall into this position including but not limited to submittal packages, communications with city/county, and corrections.
Responsibilities:

- Uses computer-aided drafting (CAD) software to create full-scale and detailed designs of structures and rack systems rough drawings.
- Prepare project CAD layouts for factory production and/or city submittal.
- Communicate relevant project information to engineering, sales team and clients about project status and issues.
- Conduct quality review on designs, checking for inaccuracies, omissions, or compliance issues and providing recommendations as well as to ensure that company standards and customer requirements are met.
- Continuously design new projects and make improvements to existing projects using AutoCAD.
- QA/QC all drawings for CAD standards and format
- Work with fellow designers to develop designs for projects, with occasional estimating responsibilities.
- Deliver complete and accurate design packages in a timely manner.
- Studies codes and regulations and determines how they will affect architectural designs.
- Draws plans for structures and systems based on instructions provided by engineers and sales reps.
- Performs other permit-related duties as required.
Qualifications
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in related field not required, but desired. Equivalent work experience accepted in lieu of degree.
- Extensive knowledge of CAD software and other architectural drafting tools.
- Independent worker with strong organizational skills including attention to detail and the ability to multi-task.
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift to 15 pounds at times.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, MS Suite, Dynamics/CRM, and ability to learn other internal applications.

Wage Range DOE $28 to $33
