Title: Director of Disabilities and Inclusion Programs
Reports to: Senior Program Officer of Social Services
The Director of Disabilities and Inclusion Programs is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing initiatives that promote inclusion and accessibility for individuals with disabilities within the JCC community. This role ensures that all programs and services are designed to address the diverse needs of participants, fostering an environment of respect, dignity, and empowerment.
Essential Functions:
- Design and implement inclusive programs tailored to teens and young adults with diverse abilities.
- Develop innovative program options for children ages 5-12 and conduct outreach to recruit participants.
- Evaluate and improve existing programs to ensure they align with current best practices in accessibility and inclusion.
- Foster and maintain meaningful engagement with program participants and their families.
- Collaborate with other departments to integrate inclusive practices across all JCC programs and services.
- Build and sustain relationships with local organizations, agencies, and stakeholders, including OPWDD, self-direction coordinators and brokers, UJA Federation of New York, SANYS, and local school district personnel.
- Develop and manage the budget for all department programs.
- Oversee compliance with department grants and ensure all requirements are met.
- Work closely with the day camp leadership team to coordinate the summer inclusion program.
- Coordinate self-direction attendance, invoicing, and billing for all classes.
- Supervise department staff, including coordinators, class instructors, job coaches, vocational café manager, and interns.

The Coordinator will oversee department coordinators, class instructors, job coaches, the vocational café manager, and interns.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time, 40-hour per week position. While some schedule flexibility is possible, the candidate must be available on Sundays and during some evenings.
Required Education and Experience:
- Experience working with children, teens, and adults of all abilities in an educational or community center setting.
- Program development and management experience, particularly in the fields of disabilities and inclusion.
- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Social Work, Rehabilitation Services, or a related field.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse groups.
- Excellent communication and advocacy skills.
- Experience in staff training and development.
- Proficiency in budget management and grant oversight.
Salary Range:
$50,000 - $60,000, commensurate with experience.
