Job Summary: Teaching all aspects of heavy equipment diesel service and repair including the Kubota
Automotive Certification areas. Participation in program planning, development, and evaluation.
Developing syllabi and course outlines, acquiring teaching aids/resources. Assisting in the registration and
recruitment of students. Maintaining contact with local business and industry partners to maintain and
establish student internship/co-op agreements. Utilizing modern/effective methods to create/maintain a
successful and productive teaching/learning environment. Work rules, code of conduct, and other policies
are essential functions of the job. Communicate effectively with businesses, students, and college
personnel. Some travel may be required. Work hours may vary from the traditional daytime schedule.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Classification: Full-time, Exempt
Department: Diesel Technology
Salary: Commensurate with education and experience. Nine-month, non-tenure track position.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Diesel Technology Certificate or Kubota Tech certification required; Associate Degree preferred.
Experience & Training: Minimum of three years of experience in the heavy equipment diesel industry.
Teaching experience preferred. Experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint).
Additional Qualification Requirements: Must be able to demonstrate experience working effectively with
individuals from diverse backgrounds. Must have excellent English, writing, and oral communication skills.
Must possess required knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience and be able to explain and demonstrate,
with or without reasonable accommodation, the essential functions of the job. The candidate must be
authorized to work in the U.S. and must provide verifiable credentials and complete the background checks
specified for the position successfully. Must have a valid driver's license and be insurable through SWTX
insurers. Travel is required to other locations served by the college.
