Job Description: Southwest University is seeking a proactive and engaging Phone Operator to join our admissions team as an outbound caller focused on scheduling meetings with potential students. Responsibilities:
- Initiate outbound calls to potential students who have shown interest in Southwest University, aiming to schedule appointments for them to meet with admissions advisors.
- Engage in friendly and professional conversations with prospective students, quickly establishing rapport and emphasizing the benefits and opportunities offered by Southwest University.
- Effectively communicate the importance of meeting with an admissions advisor to explore educational options, discuss program details, and receive personalized guidance.
- Utilize strong persuasion and negotiation skills to overcome objections and secure appointments with potential students.
- Coordinate and schedule appointments, ensuring that time slots are available and align with both the prospective student's schedule and the availability of admissions advisors.
- Accurately record appointment details, including date, time, and any specific requirements or notes, in the appropriate systems or databases.
- Provide necessary information and instructions to prospective students regarding the appointment, such as location, contact person, and any preparation needed.
- Collaborate closely with the admissions team to stay informed about program offerings, admission requirements, and any updates or changes in the enrollment process.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism and adhere to all relevant regulations, policies, and ethical guidelines governing student recruitment and enrollment.
- Participate in training sessions and ongoing professional development activities to enhance communication skills, appointment-setting techniques, and knowledge of educational programs.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent. An Associates degree is preferred.
- Proven experience in customer service, sales, telemarketing, or a related field.
- Excellent verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage and build rapport with prospective students over the phone.
- Strong persuasion and negotiation abilities, with a focus on scheduling appointments and securing commitments.
- Outstanding organizational and time management skills, with the ability to efficiently coordinate schedules and prioritize tasks.
- Proficiency in using customer relationship management (CRM) software or similar systems to schedule appointments and maintain accurate records.
- Knowledge of higher education terminology, admission processes, and general program information is desirable.
- Positive and professional demeanor, with a genuine interest in helping students explore educational opportunities.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, collaborating with colleagues to achieve appointment-setting goals.
- Flexibility to work during evenings and weekends, as necessary, to accommodate potential students' schedules.
