What are the responsibilities and job description for the Board Certified Behavior Analyst - Anticipated for 2025/2026 School Year position at Southwest Vermont Supervisory Union?
The Board Certified Behavior Analyst will be responsible for providing school behavioral treatment services to children struggling with severe emotional and behavioral challenges in the public school setting. Responsibilities include developing and managing individual assessment, treatment and therapeutic services through an Applied Behavioral Analysis model for children enrolled at Mount Anthony Union High School.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Consults and cooperates with guidance counselors, school clinicians, principals, nurses, and classroom teachers in assessing the mental and emotional health of the individual student having school difficulty and in evolving appropriate plans.
- Counsels students individually and in small groups.
- Determines and implements appropriate therapeutic strategies to effect changes in behavioral and social interactions of students and their families.
- Provides individual and group therapeutic counseling (including anxiety support, social skills training, anger management, conflict resolution, etc.) to students and their families.
- Participates as a member of school based teams to develop interventions for promoting students academic success.
- Provides de-escalation and crisis intervention services.
- Responsible for pre-referral conferences with school personnel in a team context for the appropriate intervention for a student.
- Responsible for individual and/or group short-term counseling with, or otherwise assisting, referred students.
- Responsible for cooperating and consulting as a team member with teachers, principals and other school personnel for purposes of diagnosing, evaluating and recommending interventions for the adjustment of students.
- Works with school-based security team to address behavioral needs of students.
- Responsible for providing outreach and follow-up for students referred because of attendance problems.
- Responsible for compiling, summarizing, maintaining, and submitting data or other records of pupils referred for appraisal to appropriate school personnel.
