Job Title: Scheduler
Responsible for scheduling of all outpatient-scheduled assigned appointments
Responsible for contacting insurance companies for verification of benefits, pre-authorization, and follow up on pre-certification.
Offers financial counseling to patient if deems necessary.
Provides special instructions for procedures and directions to facilities and departments.
Contacts physician offices for patient information, op orders, medical necessity and prior-authorization requirements when needed.
Coordinates information with Case Management regarding pre-certification requirements (for inpatient and outpatient surgeries)
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a scheduling or administrative role preferred
- Familiarity with phone systems and computer software for scheduling purposes
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Attention to detail and accuracy in maintaining records and schedules
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle high volumes of calls or inquiries
