Statement of Primary Purpose
• The Testing Coordinator is responsible for the delivery of admissions placement and competitive program testing services on the Jackson campus; creating a welcoming environment for applicants needing testing; and maintaining a high level of integrity and confidentiality in the test administration process. The Testing Coordinator provides administrative support functions for the Macon Campus testing center.
• The New Century Scholars Coordinator will serve as a primary contact for high school age NCS students enrolling in college courses at SCC; provide consultation to NCS county coordinators as they implement activities/services designed to assist middle and high school NCS students in the successful transition to higher education; and provide direct support services to NCS students enrolled at SCC.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
• Operate a secure Jackson Campus Testing Center; obtain certifications and training required to facilitate tests and exams offered;
• Create a comprehensive testing schedule to meet the needs of SCC student prospects and currently enrolled students.
• Perform administrative duties for the RISE placement test, the Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS), and the CASAS.
• Administer proctored tests for non-SCC students when requested.
• Review semester registration data and create the Pre-Requisite check report to validate gateway class placement. Notify Academic deans regarding incorrect placement;
• Coordinate the input of all test scores and test waivers into Colleague;
• Generate the CCRG report and perform the score search in the NCCCS Service Now Portal;
• Generate new student applicant reports to ensure accurate testing information in Colleague;
• Maintain and evaluate policies and procedures relative to New Century Scholars as recorded in the NCS handbook;
• Coordinate annual induction and contract signing events;
• Implement support strategies to promote the retention and success of NCS students enrolled at SCC
• Manage NCS records of student participation and progress toward identified goals;
• Manage program correspondence, student data, and project documentation; serve as an extension of the SCC College Access team to connect with NCS high school students;
• Coordinate NCS WCU visitation days;
• Provide annual document in Compliance Assist to evaluate the success of the NCS program and the Testing Center.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities
• Maintain an adequate supply of testing materials;
• Develop the testing budget;
• Facilitate training sessions as requested;
• Maintain and report test administration data upon request;
• Serve on college committees
Minimum Qualifications
Education
BA in business, communications, education, student services, human services or related areas preferred;
Knowledge and Skills
Strong interpersonal and communication skills; knowledge of placement testing; working knowledge of a student information system; experience working with high school and/or college students, experience working with students who face barriers to academic success; current computer skills including proficiency in the use of MS Word and Excel; ability to organize/compile data and generate reports.
