Department/Unit Summary:
5A is an acute care medical surgical unit.
On a typical day, 5A has 24 patients with a 1:6 nurse/patient ratio and 1:10 CA/patient ratio.
We serve the general population of hospitalized patients with a variety of conditions.
The conditions include illnesses, surgery, testing, and observation patients.
We take care of patients with comorbidities like diabetes, hypertension, stroke, renal and psychiatric issues.
While caring for our patients is the focus, 5A boasts a strong team environment, improved nurse communication and a commitment to SOVAH Health's core values.

SOVAH Danville is a 250 bed hospital located in Danville, VA, and is part of Lifepoint Health, a diversified healthcare delivery network committed to making communities healthier with acute care, rehabilitation, and behavioral health facilities from coast to coast.
Qualifications:
Applicants should have a current VA (or Multi-state) RN license and possess a nursing degree from an accredited nursing school (Bachelor's degree preferred).
Additional requirements include:
* American Heart Association Basic Life Support
* Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) American Heart Association required, or obtained within six (6) months of hire
