5A is an acute care medical surgical unit with a 1:6 nurse/patient ratio and 1:10 CA/patient ratio. We serve the general population of hospitalized patients with a variety of conditions, including illnesses, surgery, testing, and observation patients. We take care of patients with comorbidities like diabetes, hypertension, stroke, renal and psychiatric issues. While caring for our patients is the focus, 5A boasts a strong team environment, improved nurse communication and a commitment to SOVAH Health's core values.

Applicants should have a current VA (or Multi-state) RN license and possess a nursing degree from an accredited nursing school (Bachelor's degree preferred). Additional requirements include:
American Heart Association Basic Life Support
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) American Heart Association required, or obtained within six (6) months of hire
