The Food Specialist will collaborate with production teams to maintain high standards of food safety and quality throughout the manufacturing process.
Responsibilities
- Quality Control in Food (QC Food Control) refers to the essential process of ensuring food safety, quality, and cleanliness at every stage of food preparation and handling. The key responsibilities include:
Checking food temperatures regularly to confirm that food is either being cooked or stored at safe temperatures to prevent foodborne illnesses.
Inspecting ingredients to ensure they are fresh and safe for consumption, adhering to quality standards.
Maintaining cleanliness in food preparation areas, ensuring that food surfaces, tools, and equipment are sanitized to prevent contamination.
Documenting all findings, using tools such as Microsoft Excel or Word, to maintain a clear record of temperature checks, inspections, and other quality control tasks.
Taking corrective actions if food temperatures do not meet required standards, such as cooling food properly or cooking it to the appropriate temperature.
Understanding and applying Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) to ensure consistent product safety, cleanliness, and quality.
Monitoring Critical Control Points (CCP), which are critical steps in the food production process that must be controlled to ensure food safety.
Time management is essential for ensuring that quality control measures are conducted efficiently and within the required time frames.
This process is essential when handling food products, as it ensures that what is being prepared is safe for consumption and adheres to the highest quality standards.
