Sower Investment Partners is looking for a motivated Private Equity Intern to join our team for a Summer Internship. As a Private Equity Intern at Sower, you will have the opportunity to gain valuable experience in the fast-paced and dynamic field of private equity. You will work closely with members of our team to support various aspects of the investment process, including deal sourcing, due diligence, financial analysis, and portfolio management. This internship provides an excellent opportunity to learn about the intricacies of private equity investing and develop key skills that are highly sought after in the finance industry.

Sower Investment Partners was founded with the goal of bringing together alternative investments in a structured manner, harnessing the entrepreneurial spirit of skilled experts in a variety of investment verticals. The firm serves as sponsor or key investment partner to a family of investment funds, syndicated investments, and direct investments. We are focused on marrying strong talent, investment discipline and entrepreneurial drive, and determination to produce an outsized return for our investment partners.

OPPORTUNITY TO PARTICIPATE IN THE FOLLOWING :

  • Learn and execute meaningful work engagements within Sower
  • Experience hands on project work through the asset lifecycle
  • Work with analysts, associates and managing directors to execute tasks such as :

o Underwriting and Financial Modeling

o Overarching Business FP&A Practices & Reporting

o Track activity within private equity funds and real estate funds

o Assist in due diligence of investment opportunities

o Prepare asset plans for existing investments

  • Assist with special projects as directed by management
  • Participate in meetings and calls with company management teams and external advisors
  • Collaborate with colleagues across different departments on ad-hoc projects and initiatives
  • Assists in the preparation of materials and investment memos for internal and external stakeholders
  • Other duties as assigned

  • EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND OTHER QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program, preferably with a focus on finance, economics, statistics or accounting
  • 3.0 GPA or higher (transcript required) with outstanding academic performance.
  • Must be available for the entire summer
  • Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively convey complex ideas and analysis
  • Ability to provide exceptional client service, demonstrated commitment to continuous learning, display appropriate ethical knowledge and exhibit a sense of urgency and commitment to quality and ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment with all levels of client personnel in various industries
  • Detail oriented with exceptional organizational and time management skills
  • Relevant internship, work experience and / or involvement with a professional organization
  • Strong command of Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word and extra emphasis in Excel proficiency as well as ability to learn and effectively operate computer and associated software programs – including but not limited to SharePoint, Juniper Square, NetSuite
  • Must be willing to embrace technology to promote efficient operations and comfortable using software programs to process data and interpret results through critical thinking skills with strong business acuity
  • Must be able to work a minimum of 32 hours per week, and up to 40 hours per week as business needs arise
