SPAAN Tech is a planning, design and construction oversight firm providing services in the areas of transportation, aviation, facilities, and water. We are seeking an Assistant Resident Engineer to join our multidisciplinary team for transportation projects.
Job Description
SPAAN Tech is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer/ Assistant Resident Engineer with PE license to supervise the planning, coordination, and implementation of transportation construction projects, specifically related to those of IDOT, CDOT and ISTHA. The types of projects vary, ranging from development of roads and highways to constructing bridges to implementation of ITS systems. The Assistant Resident Engineer will ensure the projects adhere to all plans and regulations to include code compliance and safety. The Assistant Resident Engineer must possess strong leadership abilities and expertise in managing construction projects.
Job Duties
- Review and understand blueprints and technical diagrams
- Create schedules for field staff and supervise daily work performance to ensure efficient and effective results, maintaining quality control through daily assessments
- Staff compliance to plans and specifications to include those of safety rules and regulations
- Address any construction/contractor issues and take measures to make corrections
- Monitor staff to confirm project reports are submitted in a timely manner
- Oversee project to completion: “on time and on budget”
Requirements/Education/Skills
- Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
- Professional Engineering (PE) License
- Minimum 10 years Resident Engineer experience
- Experience in the following software: E-Builder, Microstation, AutoCad, CMMS
- IDOT Documentation of Contract Quantities
