Job Title: Housekeeper
Location: Comfort Inn & Suites, Hermiston, OR
Reports To: Housekeeping Supervisor / General Manager
Job Overview:
The Comfort Inn & Suites in Hermiston is looking for a hardworking and detail-oriented Housekeeper to join our team. The Housekeeper will be responsible for ensuring that all guest rooms and public areas are clean, well-maintained, and ready for guests. You will play a key role in providing an exceptional guest experience by maintaining a clean, comfortable, and inviting environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clean and sanitize guest rooms, including changing bed linens, vacuuming carpets, dusting furniture, cleaning bathrooms, and replenishing amenities.
- Ensure all public areas (lobby, hallways, restrooms, etc.) are clean and presentable at all times.
- Report any maintenance issues or damage in guest rooms or common areas to the Maintenance Department or Housekeeping Supervisor.
- Follow cleaning procedures and standards set by the hotel to meet health and safety regulations.
- Restock guest room supplies (e.g., towels, toiletries, and linen).
- Ensure proper handling of cleaning supplies and equipment, and maintain a safe working environment.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of housekeeping storage areas and carts.
- Respond to guest requests for extra items, such as towels or amenities, in a friendly and efficient manner.
- Ensure all lost-and-found items are properly logged and stored according to hotel policy.
- Assist with laundry duties as needed, including folding towels and linens.
- Assist in cleaning and resetting meeting rooms or other hotel event spaces as needed.
- Communicate effectively with other departments (front desk, maintenance, etc.) to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Maintain a high level of guest satisfaction by providing timely and efficient housekeeping services.
- Adhere to hotel’s policies and procedures regarding cleanliness and guest services.
Qualifications:
- Previous housekeeping experience is preferred, but not required.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain a high standard of cleanliness.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently manage time.
- Flexibility to work different shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Knowledge of basic cleaning equipment and chemicals is a plus.
Working Conditions:
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25-50 lbs.
- Frequent walking, bending, and standing for long periods.
- Exposure to cleaning chemicals and various cleaning tools and equipment.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions when cleaning outdoor areas.
- Work in a fast-paced environment and occasionally manage multiple tasks at once.
