Responsibilities You will guide the engineering of data-driven systems to support secure, scalable, and intelligent analytics solutions. You will work with specialized mission data to create models and test hypotheses for real-time decision-making. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to solve complex data-centric problems across the Department of Defense. You will support high-priority tasks within the CIO office and contribute to the development of innovative systems. You will engage with data engineering teams to enhance system performance and user experience. You will iterate quickly with product teams to ensure alignment with mission goals and objectives. You will be well-versed in Marine Corps structure and culture. You will be supporting the Chief Information Office within Deputy Commandant Information, IC4 which includes the Service Data Office, and will serve as an action officer supporting high priority tasks and efforts. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas : attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving. 1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include : Utilize analytical skills, evaluation techniques, and re-engineering methods to assess the technical, financial, and programmatic implications of prospective IT endeavors. 2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include : Manage stakeholder requirements from internal / external agencies helping execute and accomplish organizational goals and objectives. 3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include : Providing leadership, guidance, and mentorship to the workforce communicating organizational goals and objectives while aligning with the command's initiatives. 4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include : analysis, reporting, coordinating, and facilitating working groups to meet and resolve project objectives. In addition : Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or NO-04 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following : Collaborate with teams to design and / or develop integrated data-driven solutions, analyze mission critical data sets, and support decision making for tactical and / or operational needs. Knowledge and and experience with Marine Corps structure." Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Education Additional Information This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. Several vacancies may be filled. Relocation incentives as described in 5 USC 5743 may be authorized in accordance with applicable regulations. PCS is not authorized. Certain incentives (such as recruitment, Relocation or Student Loan Repayment) may be authorized to eligible selectees. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if the selectee fails to meet the pre-employment requirements, including failure to report to any of the scheduled appointments.
