We are seeking a full-time Procurement Specialist position responsible for supporting our non-profit’s mission by efficiently and ethically sourcing goods and services. This role ensures our programs have the necessary resources while adhering to budgetary constraints and organizational needs. The position also maintains strong vendor relationships to execute cost-effective procurement strategies that align with our organization’s values and goals.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with the organization's mission and budget.
Source and negotiate contracts with suppliers and service providers to secure the best value for the organization.
Prepare and process purchase orders and requisitions for materials, supplies, and equipment.
Collaborate with program teams to identify procurement needs and develop specifications for goods and services.
Ensure compliance with organizational policies and applicable regulations regarding procurement.
Maintain accurate records of procurement activities, contracts, and vendor performance.
Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and assess their capabilities.
Assist in training and advising staff on procurement best practices and policies.
Evaluate supplier performance and address any issues related to quality or service delivery.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
A minimum of three years of work experience in a similar or related position.
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management strongly preferred.
Strong negotiation and communication skills.
Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment and respond as needed to unexpected changes professionally and courteously.
Must have the ability to represent the company in a professional manner both internally and externally. Must display and maintain a high level of professionalism during all interactions with clients and co-workers.
Must be coachable and willing to learn.
A self-starter with a willingness to take initiative and ownership of projects.
Professional certification such as Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) or Certified Purchasing Professional (CPP) strongly preferred.
Experience in the nonprofit sector strongly preferred
Salary : $49,500 - $62,000
