Job Summary
We are seeking an Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) to join our team at Space Ground System Solutions (SGSS). The successful candidate will work onsite at a customer location in Maryland, supporting the Blossom Point Information Assurance team in upgrading and maintaining the security posture of all stand-alone and networked environments.
The ISSE will be responsible for enforcing the design and implementation of trusted relationships among external systems and architectures, as well as supporting security planning, assessment, risk analysis, and risk management. They will interact with customers and other project team members, assist in system or network designs that encompass multiple enclaves, and provide security planning, assessment, risk analysis, and risk management. Additionally, they will recommend system-level solutions to resolve security requirements and support the Government in the enforcement of the design and implementation of trusted relationships among external systems and architectures.

Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Government in the enforcement of the design and implementation of trusted relationships among external systems and architectures.
- Support security planning, assessment, risk analysis, and risk management.
- Identify overall security requirements for the proper handling of Government data.
- Interact with the customer and other project team members.
- Assist in system or network designs that encompass multiple enclaves, to include those with differing data protection/classification requirements.
- Provide security planning, assessment, risk analysis, and risk management.
- Recommend system-level solutions to resolve security requirements.
Requirements:
- An active DoD Secret security clearance with ability to obtain a TS /SCI within one year from date of hire.
- A US Citizen.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Assurance, Information Security System Engineering, or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required; Four (4) years of ISSE experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
- STE/STN metrics and reporting systems eMASS, XACTA, and JIRA.
- Knowledge of IA policy, procedures, and workforce structure to design, develop, and implement secure networking, computing, and enclave environments.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Information Technology: Experience with configuring routers, firewalls and other network appliances to meet functional and security constraints.
- Computer operating system experience with LINUX-based and Windows-based platforms.
- Experience developing technical documentation for System Security Plans (SSPs) and successfully leading systems through achieving approvals for testing and operation (e.g. Interim Authority to Test (IATT), Interim Authority to Operate (IATO), and Authority to Operate (ATO).
- Some knowledge of Space System, Satellite Ground Systems, Ground System Operations, or Satellite Operations to help with the site's implementing, monitoring, and enhancing security measures.
