The Manager of Project Management oversees and manages the customer-facing Spacelabs Project Management team. This team is responsible for ensuring comprehensive project management of Spacelabs’ products from pre-sale through project closure. This is a customer-facing role that must enhance the Company’s reputation for providing caring, effective, long-term product support.
This position will provide leadership support to include mentoring and onboarding team members. Key success indicators include increasing generation of revenue through effective execution of professional service and service plan offerings; improving team-wide work tracking and prioritization; ensuring the team maintains a standardized methodology for project management; and enhancing the perception of Spacelabs Healthcare, particularly with current and prospective customers. Additionally, it is essential that this role builds effective working relationships and synergies with internal stakeholders, especially within the Sales, Operations and Service business areas.

Responsibilities
- Manage the daily operations of the Patient Monitoring and Diagnostic Cardiology Project Management teams.
- Relentlessly pursue value-driven standardization of work practices.
- Mentor, train, and onboard team members. Promote professional development of team members.
- Provide first-level escalation for project management issues.
- Adapt team processes in anticipation of evolving technology and changing business needs. Ensure team processes meet the expressed needs of stakeholder business areas, including Sales, Operations, Finance and Service.
- Maintain Profit & Loss responsibilities for the Project Management team.
- Develop effective relationships with Sales leadership, Account Sales Executives (ASEs), Field Service and other key stakeholders to ensure good understanding and communication of customer project goals and expectations.
- Ensure that project management documents and templates are current and meet evolving business needs. Drive the development of new documentation, as necessary.
- Demonstrate tremendous empathy to customers and coworkers alike. Utilize an appropriate level of tact and professionalism when providing customer support.
- Carry out the strategic mission of the Spacelabs Service organization, as defined by Service leadership and the Spacelabs organization.
- Lead cross-functional teams to meet project requirements and deadlines.
- Enhance Sales efforts by supporting the Sales process.
- Ensure the team maintains pristine records of customer projects.
- Optimize revenue collection, ensuring effective periodic reporting.
- Ensure the project management team’s effectiveness as remote workers.
- Provide remote and onsite leadership to the project team by building and motivating team members to meet project goals, adhering to their responsibilities and project milestones.
- Ensure that customers experience an effortless transition between project implementation and post-implementation support.
- Ensure that Spacelabs charges appropriately for all project management services provided.
- Ensure good stewardship of company resources.
- Ensure proper use of project risk management techniques within the project management group, including the appropriate use of project change management.
- Report on project management activities, as appropriate.
- Deliver appropriate and effective executive-level communication.
- Ensure that applicable processes under the Spacelabs Healthcare Quality Management System (QMS) are implemented and maintained.
- Maintain an appropriate knowledge of Spacelabs Healthcare products and software.

- Bachelor’s Degree and 8 years of related experience; or 12 years of an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- 2 years' experience managing people or a team of project/ program managers and bringing multiple projects to completion simultaneously.
- Experience working in healthcare or medical device industry required.
- Demonstrated success with managing multiple, complex priorities within demanding timeframes.
- Proven ability to deliver results through others, both direct and matrixed. Proven ability to lead, develop, motivate and hold others accountable.
- PMP certification or equivalent project management training or certification is recommended.
- Exhibit strong leadership, diplomatic and motivational skills including the ability to lead up, across and down multiple business and technology organizations.
- Must possess highly developed relationship-building skills, and strong presentation and communication skills.
- Must be experienced working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
- Must be flexible, with a proven ability to conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Must have an ability to maintain professionalism and represent Spacelabs appropriately when faced with difficult or contentious customer situations.
- Must demonstrate decisiveness in resolving business problems, making decisions and identifying priorities.
- Work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment, demonstrating teamwork, innovation and excellence.
- Must be proficient with Windows, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Microsoft Teams, Microsoft SharePoint, Microsoft Visio and Microsoft Project.
- Travel: Up to 25% travel is required. Must be able to acquire all necessary travel documents (as required).
- Must be able to complete job responsibilities working with different time zone needs such as attending late night/early morning meetings by phone and/or web to meet business needs: 25%.
- Must be able to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
