About The IF Project

The IF Project is a community-driven organization that works to support individuals affected by incarceration, specifically focusing on those impacted by the criminal justice system, including returning citizens (formerly incarcerated individuals). The project aims to provide opportunities for these individuals to rebuild their lives through personal development, education, and access to resources that can help them reintegrate successfully into society. The IF Project works to reduce recidivism and promote successful reintegration by offering support to individuals directly impacted by the justice system. This includes formerly incarcerated individuals, individuals currently incarcerated, and their families. The organization provides mentorship, training, education, emotional support, and access to resources that foster personal transformation and empowerment.

Position Summary

The Fund Development Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to secure funding through grants, donations, and partnerships. This role requires a dynamic individual with a strong background in grant writing and fundraising, who can effectively communicate the mission and impact of The IF Project to potential funders.

This position leads the organization’s fundraising, external communications, and marketing initiatives. The preferred candidate is a dynamic individual who will work collaboratively with staff and volunteers to diversify our revenue portfolio. This position will serve as a presence in the community promoting our mission and bringing together corporations, individuals, foundations, and government partners to support long-term solutions.

The manager will also develop communications and marketing strategies for the organization to help further our mission and vision, including developing strategies around social media, newsletters and community outreach.

Key Responsibilities

  • Grant Writing and Management:
    • Research and identify potential grant opportunities from foundations, corporations, and government entities.
    • Write compelling grant proposals and reports that effectively convey The IF Project’s mission and impact.
    • Track grant application deadlines and manage the submission process to ensure timely applications.
  • Fundraising Strategy Development:
    • Collaborate with leadership to create and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy.
    • Set and achieve annual fundraising goals in alignment with organizational objectives.
    • Develop and maintain relationships with current and prospective donors.
  • Donor Engagement:
    • Cultivate relationships with existing donors through regular communication, updates, and appreciation.
    • Organize donor appreciation events and outreach activities to enhance engagement and support.
  • Communication Administration:
    • Organize donor and partner communications.
    • Own in organization social media and newsletter.
  • Research and Reporting:
    • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of fundraising initiatives and adjust strategies as needed.
    • Prepare and present reports on fundraising progress and outcomes to the leadership team and board of directors.
  • Collaboration:
    • Work closely with program staff to gather data and stories that demonstrate the impact of The IF Project’s work.
Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nonprofit Management, Business, Communications, or a related field.
  • Three to five years of experience in fundraising and grant writing within the nonprofit sector.
  • Proven track record of successful grant proposals and fundraising campaigns.
  • Strong writing, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Familiarity with fundraising software and databases is a plus.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with donor management systems.
  • Knowledge of current trends in nonprofit fundraising.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

Salary : $42,000 - $50,000
