Position Overview
As a 1099 Landscape Designer, you will be responsible for creating innovative and detailed landscape design proposals for residential and commercial clients in the Twin Cities area. You will work remotely, but must reside in the Twin Cities to attend site visits as needed. This role emphasizes quick turnarounds (1–3 days per project) and offers significant commission-based earning potential—ranging from $50,000 to $150,000 for the 2025 season.
Key Responsibilities
- Design Proposals: Develop high-quality landscape designs using SketchUp, Lumion, and AutoCAD (licenses provided).
- Site Visits: Conduct on-site assessments within the Twin Cities to gather measurements, conduct LiDar 3D scans, photos, and client requirements.
- Revisions & Approvals: Communicate with clients to refine designs and implement requested changes until the final design is approved.
- Quantity Take-Offs: Provide accurate material and plant quantity take-offs for approved designs.
- Project Coordination (Optional): If desired, serve as a facilitator for the build process, earning additional compensation.
- Client Relationship Management: Collaborate with clients to ensure satisfaction, maintain relationships, and capitalize on future opportunities.
- Multiple Streams of Income: Expand your design and consulting services outside of our partnership, leveraging the freedom that comes with 1099 contractor status.

Qualifications
- Residency in the Twin Cities: Must be based in or near the Twin Cities to perform on-site visits.
- Proven Landscape Design Experience: Portfolio of residential or commercial landscape designs showcasing creativity, attention to detail, and functionality.
- Technical Proficiency: Skilled in SketchUp, AutoCAD, Lumion (licenses provided), and other relevant design software.
- Strong Communication Skills: Ability to convey design ideas clearly and professionally to clients and team members.
- Self-Motivated & Organized: Capable of managing your own schedule, meeting deadlines, and handling multiple projects concurrently.
