What are the responsibilities and job description for the Day Porter position at Spanish River Church?
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
We are seeking an energetic and reliable day porter who has a strong walk with the Lord to maintain and keep our campus clean. Overall duties will include maintaining hallways, common areas and dining hall, restocking bathrooms and responding to all cleaning emergencies. Small projects such as assembling furniture, touch-up paint, and setting rooms up for school events may also be assigned. However, larger projects will be handled by our Facilities Department.
The successful candidate will be organized, dedicated, and able to handle a variety of duties. You will work with management to create an effective cleaning schedule, which will include your day-to-day routines and work timetable. A pre-employment background screening is required for all candidates offered employment.

Must be reliable, organized and have a strong attention to detail and work within a deadline. Must be able to work well with people. Must be able to physically lift 40 lbs. or more. Must be able to stand for long periods of time and able to bend, stoop, carry and reach. Must be able to problem solve and work with minimal supervision.

PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS INCLUDE (but not limited to):
- Familiar with commercial cleaning practices: floor cleaning, carpet extraction, floor scrubbing, restroom and common area cleaning.
- Ability to perform cleaning procedures throughout a number of different spaces and different surfaces.
- Various event set-ups may be required; set up of foldable chairs and tables.
- Have a high-level of standards in regards to cleaning as it relates to the church and school’s image and the reflection of God’s image through our property.
- Flexibility in getting tasks done within a timely manner
