An Assistant General Manager, or Assistant Operations Manager, supports leadership teams in directing day-to-day operations for a business and provides ongoing support to teams and staff. Their duties include scheduling people and tasks, assisting with coaching and training and directly overseeing staff and process performance. The assistant general manager helps the general manager to ensure that day-to-day business operations run smoothly. They draw up weekly schedules, order merchandise, and assist the general manager with training, recruiting, promotions and planning.
