Spark by Hilton Merrillville is looking for a skilled and dedicated Maintenance Team Member to join our brand-new hotel! As part of our opening team, you’ll play an essential role in ensuring our property is in top shape for our guests. If you’re passionate about making a lasting impact and working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, we want you on our team!
Responsibilities:
- Perform general maintenance and repair tasks throughout the hotel, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry.
- Ensure that all guest rooms, common areas, and facilities are functioning properly and in excellent condition.
- Respond quickly to maintenance requests from guests and staff, addressing issues efficiently and professionally.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance to keep equipment and systems in optimal working order.
- Ensure the hotel meets safety and security standards, reporting any concerns or hazards.
- Assist with the maintenance of outdoor areas and landscaping when necessary.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas to ensure cleanliness and proper functionality.
Qualifications:
- Previous maintenance or general repair experience, preferably in the hospitality industry.
- Solid knowledge of plumbing, electrical systems, and HVAC.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve maintenance issues efficiently.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks as needed.
- Good communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
- Positive attitude and a commitment to excellent guest service.
