Job Overview
Rapidly growing recreational facility with space(s) to fill is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Special Events Manager to oversee the planning and execution of various events. This role requires a strong background in events management, exceptional customer service skills, and the ability to negotiate effectively with vendors and clients. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating memorable experiences while ensuring that all logistical aspects of events run smoothly.
We have event space for capacities ranging from 25-2000. Position is salary plus commission.
Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and execute special events.
- Collaborate with clients to understand their vision and requirements for each event.
- Negotiate contracts with vendors, venues, and suppliers to secure the best services at competitive rates.
- Manage event budgets and ensure all expenses are tracked accurately.
- Oversee on-site event operations, ensuring everything runs according to plan.
- Provide exceptional guest services throughout the event to enhance attendee experience.
- Upsell additional services or packages to clients where appropriate.
- Coordinate with hotel and restaurant staff to ensure seamless service delivery during events.
- Develop marketing strategies for events to maximize participation and revenue.
- Follow up in order to ensure repeat business.
Skills
- Proven experience in events management with a strong portfolio of successful events.
- Excellent customer service skills with a focus on client satisfaction.
- Strong time management skills to handle multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
- Ability to negotiate effectively with vendors and clients for optimal outcomes.
- Experience in fundraising activities is a plus.
- Knowledge of banquet operations within hotel or restaurant settings is advantageous.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, to facilitate clear interactions with clients and team members.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving with strong organizational abilities.
