TexEx Energy Operating, LLC is looking to hire an Assistant Controller/CPA. TexEx is an operating company for both public and privately held companies (Spark Energy, Fuelco Energy, Flipco Financial, Bridgeco Financial, NG&E, etc.).
JOB SUMMARY
The Human Resources Generalist will perform professional level human resources work and carries out responsibilities in one or more functional areas, such as, payroll, staffing, employee relations, benefits, training, employment, labor relations, safety, and personnel research.
- Process paperwork and maintain HRIS for new hires, terminations, resignations, employee updates and status changes
- Coordinate with related departments to provide assistance as required and needed
- Administer HR policies and procedures
- Assist with benefit enrollment, open enrollment, field questions from employees, communicate with benefits broker to answer employees’ questions
- Maintain knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting HR functions, including but not limited to: FMLA, FLSA, ADA, and COBRA
- Reviewing employee complaints and ensuring accurate and timely documentation of concerns or issues
- Facilitating actions to resolve employee issues and escalating them to appropriate management team
- Perform miscellaneous clerical functions and special projects as assigned
- Manage the onboarding process, including preparing new hire paperwork, scheduling drug screens, completing background checks, conducting new hire orientations, etc.
- Manage the off-boarding process, including preparing termination paperwork, exit interviews, working with the IT and Facilities departments to terminate computer access, etc.
- Organizes and filing of all paperwork flowing through HR department
- Maintain personnel files for accuracy and completion
- Facilitate the leave of absence claims to include, Maternity Leave/FMLA/Short-Term Disability/Long-Term Disability
- Maintain communication with employee leading up to planned leave, while on leave and returning from leave
- Process Workers Compensation claims
- Assist in handling FSA, HSA, and HRA processing
- Assist in administering the Company Performance Evaluation process
- Maintain badging system and set up new employee access, communicate with building management regarding employee access, deactivate terminated employees
- Assist in audits pulling requested information ensuring accurate documentation and approval process is followed
- Approving employee generated changes in ADP (demographics, benefits)
- Manage Fuelco Drivers/Techs benefit enrollment, sign on bonus, referral bonus process
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Entry level position, 0-2 years preferred. Degree in HR or related field preferred, but not required.
- Knowledge in ADP preferably with Workforce Now (HRB, Payroll, Time & Attendance, and Reporting) a plus
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Excel, and Word
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- Able to maintain high standards of integrity
- Ability to multitask in a fast work environment
- Ability to meet highest attendance requirements
- Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently
- Ability to use personal computer, calculator, etc.
- Could involve some lifting up to 20 pounds
- Ability to work in time-sensitive environment with non-flexible deadlines
