Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Certified Peer Specialist to join our team. As a Certified Peer Specialist, you will provide support and assistance to individuals inflicted with the illness of substance abuse. Your role will involve utilizing your personal experience and professional training to empower and inspire individuals on their journey to recovery.
Duties:
- Provide crisis intervention and support during times of distress
-Coordinate with the therapists to ensure timeliness of programs
-provide insight to the group sessions.
- Build trusting relationships with individuals receiving services
- Provide peer support and mentorship to promote self-advocacy and resilience
- Assist individuals in developing and achieving their personal recovery goals
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop individualized treatment plans
- Assist individuals in navigating the behavioral health system and accessing community resources
- Document client interactions and progress according to agency guidelines
Skills:
Qualifications:
- Certification as a Peer Specialist is required
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred
- Previous experience working in a behavioral health setting is preferred
