PROGRAM ASSISTANT
Part-Time (with Potential for Full-Time)
Location: SparkGrounds (7777 131st Street, Seminole)
Hours: Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays 5:00-7:00pm (with more hours available as summer approaches)
Pay: $22.50/hour (increases to $25.00/hour after training)
SparkGrounds is seeking a Program Assistant to support our innovative, STEM-focused learning environment. This is not a teaching position but an opportunity to engage with students, assist in club activities, and help maintain our makerspace.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Student Supervision & Club Assistance:
- Supervise students in various STEM-focused clubs, including Minecraft, Pokémon, and other gaming and STEM-based activities.
- Assist students with basic computer and tablet use and, ideally, 3D printing (training available).
- Help students with elementary and middle school math, reading, and writing in a group tutoring setting.
Makerspace Setup & Organization:
- Clean and prepare the classroom and club spaces for the next day’s classes and programs.
- Follow instructions and site plans for equipment and materials setup.
Positive Role Model & Communication:
- Model respectful behavior in interactions with students and parents.
- Communicate effectively with owners, supervisors, and fellow staff.
- Ensure that Company procedures are closely followed—including procedures for student release and space security.
Requirements:
- Must be 18 or older (You may be staffing the office alone at times).
- Comfortable with technology and knowledgeable about Minecraft, Pokémon, and similar games.
- Excellent communication skills and a passion for helping students succeed.
- Strong ability to follow instructions and stay organized.
- Ability to engage with students in a positive, supportive manner.
- Reliable, responsible, energetic, always on-time, and extremely professional.
- Ability to pass a Level 2 background check, including fingerprinting.
