We prioritize personality and eagerness to learn over experience! While our ideal candidate would have a background in eyewear selection, dispensing, troubleshooting and inspection, we are willing to educate a candidate with enthusiasm to learn.
The Optician's primary responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Walking our family of patients through the glasses selection process in a friendly, informative, and individualized manner based on visual and fashion needs
- Understanding of multiple lens options to optimize vision and visual function
- Obtaining accurate measurements required for an eyewear prescription, including pupillary distance, seg/fitting height, and vertex distance
- Skilled in lensometry (automated and manual) and use of a pupillometer
- Making adjustments and frame repairs for our patients' needs
- Maintaining clean and well-stocked frame boards, dispensing area, and optical room
- Awareness of patient flow issues and ability to maintain efficient clinical flow
- Understanding of insurance and vision care plans to assist patients with their benefits information and file claims to EyeMed, VSP and other plans
- Assist manager with inventory selection, frame purchasing and returns
- Maintains effective working relationships with other staff and doctor
- Willing to cross-train and support your co-workers with front desk and technician responsibilities when needed
- Other duties as assigned

Our office is open Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays 8:00 am to 5:30 pm, Tuesdays 10:00 am to 7:00 pm, and Fridays 7:00 am to 2:00 pm.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
