We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Training and Development Specialist to join our team on a contract basis. This fully on-site position is located in Hampton, Virginia. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting organization-wide training and employee development initiatives. This role requires a strong understanding of training methodologies, program development, and evaluation. Experience with Workday is essential.
Responsibilities :
- Collaborate with departments to assess training needs for new and existing employees.
- Develop and implement engaging training programs and materials, utilizing various delivery methods such as instructor-led, eLearning, and self-guided training.
- Establish and support on-the-job training (OJT) programs, including mentoring, subject matter expert involvement, and procedure reviews.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of training content and delivery methods, making necessary improvements.
- Identify internal and external training programs to address competency gaps.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to understand and address employee training needs.
- Communicate training options to employees and develop individual and departmental training plans.
- Track and report on training outcomes, providing feedback to participants and management.
- Evaluate and recommend training materials and methodologies.
- Manage the training budget.
- Stay current on training design and methodology best practices.
- Contribute to succession planning initiatives.
- Provide excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate training records and documentation.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
