Instructional Designer Job Summary:
Sparks Group is seeking a skilled, agile and highly organized Instructional Designer do join a management consulting company working on the hill in Washington, DC. This role will be mostly remote, but will require the occasional commute to Washington, DC (roughly 10%).
As an Instructional Designer, you will be responsible for creating instructional content for live and on-demand audiences to meet the specific subject matter requirements of a fast-paced and matrixed federal organization. A proven background in instructional design, graphics and video production is desired as well as the flexibility, agility and high level of personal organization required to meet the needs of fast-paced organization, supporting high value stakeholders with varying interests.
Instructional Designer Responsibilities:
- Build a catalog of learning modules across multiple modalities (classroom, live online, on-demand, etc., but most video) to meet the specific subject matter requirements of a fast-paced and matrixed federal organization.
- Identify and apply technical and behavioral performance improvement solutions to help achieve organizational goals.
- Design a variety of training applications for a broad array of delivery methods (e.g., blended, eLearning, simulations, mobile).
- Write, review, and edit storyboards.
- Assess, measure, and analyze organizational performance in a complex, change-driven environment.
Instructional Designer Qualifications:
- Degree/certification in Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, Distance Learning, Digital Media, or related field preferred.
- 5 years of experience in creating informative multimedia content
- Demonstrated ability to identify and apply technical and behavioral performance improvement solutions to help achieve organizational goals.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, with special focus on Premiere Pro, After Effects, and InDesign.
- Knowledge of/experience with instructional design tools such as Articulate 360.
- Skill in creating interactive and engaging learning materials using multimedia elements, animations, simulations, and storytelling techniques.
- Skill in developing engaging course materials for instructor-led trainings: slide decks, participant resources, and facilitator guides.
- Skill with post-production video editing
- Skill/experience with graphic design and animation tools.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) to convey complex concepts to diverse audiences, including stakeholders and subject matter experts.
- Comfort level working with technical content.
- Understanding of the ADDIE process, adult learning methodology, and Kirkpatrick’s 4 levels of evaluation.
- Complex problem-solving skills and strong analytical abilities.
- Ability to operate in a team environment which demands ongoing collaboration among fellow instructional designers and other operational staff.
- Demonstrated success in managing multiple projects and competing priorities.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
Salary : $60,000 - $63,000
