What are the responsibilities and job description for the Veterinary Technician/Assistant position at Sparta Animal Clinic?

This is a full-time position with benefits, working four ten-hour shifts. Retirement compensations, vet care compensation, paid time off and paid holidays.
Veterinary assistant functions includes:
- Guiding clients and their pets to exam rooms
- Taking accurate and thorough patient histories
- Scheduling and confirming appointments
- Placing outbound calls for follow-ups and reaching out to prospective clients
- Present and explaining fees, including processing payments
- Recommending, selecting, and obtaining products an services, including prescriptions.
- Answering questions regarding products and services, including educating clients on general animal husbandry and non-medical pet care (i.e., heartworm prevention, housebreaking, and flea & tick control)
- Drawing blood on canine and feline species
- Taking radiographs of patients
- Running cytology's (urine, ear and blood) on canine and feline patients

Pay: From $17.00 per hour

Education:
- High school or equivalent (Preferred)
Experience:
- Veterinary Experience: 1 year (Preferred)
License/Certification:
