Responsibilities
Membership:
- Oversee the management of membership records and files. Maintain confidentiality of members files and private information.
- Resolve issues for members.
- Ability to retrieve membership information from computer system.
- Knowledge of membership rates, promotions, and eligible discount groups.
- Conduct tours responsive to the needs of prospective members; ability to “sell” the Y.
- Handles and resolves membership concerns and informs supervisor of unusual situations or unresolved issues.
- Accurately conducts financial transactions for membership and program fees. Hand out invoices for members with outstanding balances; accountable for all cash collected during shift.
- In partnership with the Membership Director, process financial assistance applications.
- Applies all YMCA policies dealing with member services.
Operations:
- Ensures the security of the facility by scanning all members and enforcing policy regarding visitors.
- Work with department directors and maintenance/janitorial staff to ensure the entire facility is clean and operationally functional.
- General understanding of all Wellness Center equipment and an overall knowledge of fitness & wellness.
- General understanding of all programs and special events.
- General understanding and ability to communicate safety policies and procedures.
- Ensuring all members are acting safely, appropriately, and in accordance with the member handbook.
- Conduct program registration for members and guests.
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Customer Service:
- Provides excellent service to members, guests, and program participants in the Y and on the phone, contributing to member retention.
- Greets members by name and visitors in a positive and professional manner as a representative of the YMCA
- Have the member’s best interest at heart. Be the guide!
- Build relationships with members by showing interest in each members well-being, learning member’s names, and accommodating request when possible.
- Intentionally and continuously strive to promote an inclusive culture that values diversity, strengthens inclusion, and makes members feel welcome.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.

Qualifications
- Minimum 18 years age
- Ability to pass level 2 background screening
- Computer skills
- CPR / First Aid (YMCA will provide within 60 days of hire)
- Child abuse prevention training (YMCA will provide within 60 days of hire)
