Payroll Specialist (Union Focus)
Location : Detroit, MI
Job Type : Full-Time, On-site
Pay Range : Starting at $75,000 (Pay commensurate with experience)

We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Payroll Specialist with a strong focus on union payroll to join our client’s dynamic team in Detroit, MI. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing payroll processes, ensuring compliance with collective bargaining agreements, and maintaining accurate payroll records. Key Responsibilities
Process and manage payroll for union employees, ensuring timely and accurate payments.
Interpret and apply terms outlined in collective bargaining agreements to payroll processes.
Reconcile payroll records, identify discrepancies, and resolve issues promptly.
Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, deductions, benefits, and taxes.
Collaborate with HR and accounting teams to ensure data accuracy and compliance with company policies.
Generate and analyze payroll reports for management and regulatory compliance purposes.
Stay informed about changes in union contracts, labor laws, and tax regulations.
Qualifications
Proven experience in payroll processing, particularly with unionized workforces.
Proficiency in payroll systems such as ADP, Paycom, or similar platforms.
Strong understanding of collective bargaining agreements and labor regulations.
Exceptional organizational and analytical skills with high attention to detail.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and payroll reporting tools.
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or equivalent work experience preferred.
