Audit Senior - Non-Profit
Servicing as the lead Auditor for various engagements, with a focus on non-profit and for-profit entities, schools, and/or employee benefit plans. This role requires strong analytical and communication skills to effectively manage client relationships and deliver high-quality audit services.
Responsibilities
- Lead Auditor for all types of engagements, including non-profit and for-profit entities, schools, and/or employee benefit plans.
- Supervise audits for high-risk and time-consuming engagements under the direction of a Supervisor or higher.
- Serve as the primary client liaison for all in-charge engagements.
- Organize and schedule in-charge engagements in a timely and efficient manner.
- Oversee and manage lower-level staff members on most engagements.
- Respond promptly to review notes on work performed, including financial statements, management letters, and other financial reports.
- Communicate with clients regarding financial statements, management letters, required communications letters, Board reports/presentations, and other financial reports.
- Prepare and/or review nonprofit information returns (IRS Form 990 and New York State CHAR500).
Eligibility Criteria
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or similar field.
- 3-5 years of audit experience in public accounting.
- Experience working with non-profit, school, and/or employee benefit plan clients is advantageous.
- CPA certification is required.
- Applied knowledge of US GAAP and GAAS, with GAGAS experience preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word is essential.
- Familiarity with ProSystem fx Engagement is desirable.
