POSITION : Media Technology Teacher
LOCATION : Byrnes High School
QUALIFICATIONS :
- Valid South Carolina Teaching Certificate
- Media Technology (DC) Certification
REPORTS TO : Building Principal
GENERAL SUMMARY : Under general supervision, assists students in learning subject matter and developing skills that contribute to their growth as mature, capable, and responsible individuals.
REQUIREMENTS & DUTIES SPECIFIC TO THIS POSITION : The successful candidate will have experience teaching media production and communications, with an emphasis on hands-on training in audio and video production. Candidates should be proficient in writing, producing, directing, and editing projects using industry-standard software and equipment. A strong understanding of safety protocols and the ability to guide students in obtaining industry-recognized safety certifications is essential.
Key responsibilities include :
Candidates must possess knowledge of graphic design, marketing, and related fields and demonstrate the ability to engage students in collaborative and independent projects that showcase mastery of media production. Experience preparing students for industry-recognized certifications and supporting their transition into professional media roles is highly desirable.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES :
WORKING CONDITIONS :
Conducts duties in a classroom environment with no significant exposure to environmental conditions. Requires ability to work under a degree of stress related to duties that require constant attention and working with students. Physical demands are restricted to classroom work requiring lifting / moving of items up to 25 pounds. Occasional local travel is required; no overnight travel is required. Job requires the operation of standard office equipment.
