Position Summary
The Infectious Diseases Clinical Pharmacy Specialist is responsible for collaborating with managers, providers, and staff in the Infectious Diseases Clinic and Specialty Pharmacy to manage, optimize, and provide counseling for complex medication regimens. This position primarily supports a multidisciplinary team within the Ryan White Clinic, which cares for approximately 700 patients living with HIV. The Infectious Diseases Clinical Pharmacy Specialist is responsible for providing direct patient care by proactively and reactively impacting pharmacotherapeutic decisions through interdisciplinary collaboration with physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, and ancillary staff participating in the care of patients. In addition, the Infectious Diseases Clinical Pharmacy Specialist is responsible for contributing to the educational initiatives of the clinic and pharmacy department health-system, including, but not limited to, staff development and student and resident precepting. The Infectious Diseases Clinical Pharmacy Specialist will also be responsible for managing quality improvement and research projects in their area of specialty.
